For Immediate Release, May 17, 2010
NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY - The Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation is pleased to announce that long-time gala volunteers Kim Gordon and Wendy Ito are the new co-chairs of the annual fundraising gala. Having volunteered with the gala for several years, Kim and Wendy bring a wealth of experience and exciting ideas to their new roles. This year's gala is entitled "All that Glitters …Looks Like a Million" and will taken place on Saturday, November 13th at the LIUNA Local 183 Training Centre in Cobourg. Funds raised this year will once again purchase new medical equipment for the Northumberland Hills Hospital.
This is a special evening for several other reasons. 2010 marks the 10th Anniversary of this important fundraising event. Since its inception the gala has raised $850,000 for the hospital. This year, Wendy and Kim and the Gala Cabinet have set their sights on raising $150,000 which would bring their 10 year total to $1 million.
Gala guests have come to expect the best in food, décor, live music, live and silent auctions and organizers of this year's event promise they won't disappoint. But the Gala is not just about having a good time. It is truly about a community coming together for the purpose of helping to purchase top priority medical equipment for its community hospital.
To meet this year's ambitious goal sponsorship will be key and new sponsors are currently being sought out. Leading the way, Northumberland Publishers and Cameco Corporation have confirmed as Platinum Sponsors. Many sponsorship opportunities are currently available. One Mile at a Time with Aeroplan's Charitable Pooling Program.
June 18, 2009
NORTHUMBERLAND - The Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation, in partnership with Aeroplan, is pleased to announce an exciting new way to support the purchase of new medical equipment for the hospital. As part of Aeroplan's Charitable Pooling Program, Aeroplan members can now donate a portion of their Aeroplan miles to a special designated account for the Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation.
Between June 24th and July 24th, Aeroplan members can donate any number of miles they would like to the Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation. Interested donors simply need to contact the Foundation Office and fill out a special transfer form. Forms are also available for printing here. Donors can pre-register, but the miles will only be deducted during the authorized donation period.
"We are thrilled to be partnering with Aeroplan on this new endeavor," says Rhonda Cunningham, Foundation Executive Director, "Donating Aeroplan miles is another fabulous way to support the patients and health care professionals at the hospital." Donated miles will be used to purchase items to be raffled or auctioned off, and amounts of Aeroplan Miles themselves may be raffled off. The funds raised will be used to purchase high priority medical equipment to enhance patient care at the Northumberland Hills Hospital.
The Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation thanks Aeroplan for its generosity in the creation of this program. Please note Aeroplan does not assign monetary value to Aeroplan miles; therefore the Foundation cannot issue a donation receipt for any gift of Aeroplan miles.
